Monaque – I Love Deep Podcast 045 (17-08-2011)

The New York and Moscow based DJ/Production partnership Monaque, made up of Alex Monakhov and Serge Que are quickly establishing themselves as a force to be reckoned with and one of the hotly tipped names to watch this year. The duo have deep roots in electronic music dating back almost 20 years and has seen them residing at some of the worlds most prestigious parties held by the likes of Godskitchen, Renaissance, Cream and Global Underground playing alongside some of the most famous names in the industry such as Sasha, James Zabiela, Pete Tong and John Digweed to name but a few.

With a very productive year in the studio behind them, resulting in almost 20 releases on esteemed labels such as Ultra, Hernan Cattaneo's 'Sudbeat' and Anthony Pappa's 'Red Light District' alongside more underground labels like Forensic, Stripped and Vapour Recordings to great critical acclaim. Working with such a variety of labels and artists has allowed Monaque to not only hone their production skills but also showcase their musical diversity which has seen their output crossing genres from deep house to tech house and techno. Successfully crossing these musical boundaries and the sheer consistent quality of their music has had a profound impact on their fan base with support coming thick and fast from everyone from Sasha and Christian Smith through to Laurent Garnier and Luciano.

Production work aside the pair are also very busy touring as DJ's or performing live sets, last summer saw them perform in front of a 30,000 plus crowd with Armin Van Buuren on the main stage of the famous Kazantip festival alongside a residency at Arma 17, which for the uninitiated is one of the coolest clubs in Moscow (if not the world )hosting regular parties for the likes of Steve Lawler's 'Viva' and Sven Vath's 'Cocoon' labels. With further residencies on the cards and with a weekly radio show broadcasting to an audience of more than a million people along with a monthly show on Frisky Radio, it's no surprise at all that Monaque are starting to stir up a lot of interest.

So here we are at the start of 2010 and the duo show no signs of slowing down, signing up to Dave Seaman's Audio Therapy agency to take care of worldwide bookings and immediately embarking on a 25 date Eastern European tour in support of a CD compilation to be released through the illustrious Renaissance label. As well as the CD release there will also be singles on Renaissance along with Hernan Cattaneo's 'Sudbeat' label and forthcoming releases to feature remixes from Jim Rivers , Sei A and Bedrock superstar Guy J it would seem as if their profile is set to rise to the next level and above.
